Arts Centre Penryn

Arts Centre Penryn is a not-for-profit contemporary arts organisation working with artists and local people to co-create culture and creativity. They commission art works, support creative careers, inspire audiences and deliver enjoyable and meaningful creative activity for all.

In 2023, public funding secured the purchase of Penryn Methodist Chapel and School Room to create a new art space for Penryn and the wider region. This was an exciting re-imagining of two important listed buildings at the heart of the town.

In 2024, we refurbished the School Room to create a public art room, a shared workspace for creative freelancers, and 7 individual artists’ studios. We restored the building fabric and introduced substantial environmental performance upgrades, including using a locally-made insulating lime plaster.

We are now developing plans to adapt the chapel as an art space and to carry out fabric and low carbon upgrades that will provide the building, and Art Centre Penryn, with a sustainable long term future.
