A garden stair play house for Beckett Hall Day Nursery school in Bristol.
Becket Hall Day Nursery occupies the former church hall of St Thomas the Martyr, the churchyard and 29-31 Victoria Street. 25-31 Victoria Street is a terrace of four timber framed seventeenth century buildings, the merchants’ houses.
The proposed garden stair is a light-weight and playful timber structure which allows the nursery children to move easily between inside and out of 29 Victoria Street. The stair is designed as an open solid timber piece of construction which respond to the construction of the merchants’ houses.
